What are Invasive Species?
An invasive species is an organism not native to a region that when introduced may out-compete native species for available resources such as food and space. They have negative economic, social, environmental and human health implications.
What are Aquatic Invasive Species?
An AIS can either live in freshwater or marine environments. The majority of the species of concern to Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario, such as Zebra Mussels, Spiny Waterflea, Rusty Crayfish, Quagga Mussels and Asian Carp are freshwater species.

How Must you Stop the Spread?
The legislation applies to everyone who uses a water body across the province from the general public to commercial operators.
Watercraft Regulations (eg. Canoes, Sailboats, Jet Skis, Power Boats, Paddle boards)
